Get Connected With Other Antique Car Buffs
March 2nd, 2009
There’s just something so rewarding about having another person’s eyes stick to your ride like glue. When you own a classic or antique car, this isn’t exactly out of the ordinary. Imagine having those eyes not only appreciate the beauty of your ride, but also what’s under the hood and the history behind the machine.
If you’re dying to hang out with likeminded people, it’s time look into hooking up with other classic car buffs. This isn’t as hard as it sounds. Most states and even smaller communities have their own associations, car shows and other events where you can take your ride and meet others who also own their own classics.
To find them, you’ll want to look in a few different places:
- Your local telephone book might have local clubs listed.
- Local newspapers often run notices of meetings and advances on car shows.
- The Internet is an incredible resource for finding car shows in any given area. It’s also a great place to track down associations. One of the better places to start is the Antique Automobile Club of America. This organization has chapters all over the country and hosts major meets in every region.
- Your parts store or local garages, too, might know how to point you toward other classic enthusiasts.
Finding others who understand and appreciate classics isn’t as difficult as you might think. Check out a few places and you’re likely to find a club or association chapter that meets in your area.
