Classic Car Quick Cleanups
February 27th, 2009
Keeping a classic car looking spectacular takes some work. Just as it is with any other vehicle, you’re bound to experience some spills, slipups and stains. It’s even likely a few birds will leave behind a present or two on your shiny custom paintjob.
So, how can you keep your antique car looking great in the face of it all? You might want to create a quick cleanup kit to carry in your trunk. By keeping these items handy, you’ll always have what it takes to tackle life’s little oops moments and make sure your ride shines:
- Battery charged hand vacuum – These are great for picking dry spills and making sure they don’t get ground into upholstery or carpeting.
- Windshield cleaner – For fast buff ups of the interior and exterior of windows, it’s a good idea to have cleaner handy.
- No salt seltzer – This is great for fast removal of bird droppings and bugs that might stick to the paint. Some bugs can be terribly harmful to a paintjob. Florida’s love bugs, for example, can eat right through a fresh coat of paint if they are left mashed on a hood.
- Stain remover – A good carpet stain remover is a smart idea to carry along. This can help prevent damage from settling in.
- Various cloths, paper towels and rags – Make sure to have plenty of absorbent materials and soft clothes in the kit to help with spill cleanup and stain removal.
Washing and waxing a classic isn’t enough to keep one looking great all the time. To stay on top of it all, an emergency kit can make a big difference.
