Buying a Classic Car
May 20th, 2009
For anyone who has grown up with an interest in cars, it is often a bit of a wrench to look at the great classic cars in magazines and on television and then have to plump for something functional that is good for taking the kids to school in. it does not need to be a sign of the death of a dream, however. Think of the cars that you own early on as your apprenticeship, but as you are doing so think what you are building towards – graduation to the world of classic cars.
Once you have enough money squirreled away – depending on how much you earn and how assiduous a saver you are this might be before or after the kids leave school – you can justifiably go for the old classic you have been coveting from an early age. If the kids are off to college you can trade in the old run-around that you had been using to get to the shops and to school, and realize your dream of owning brilliance. Just make sure that everyone is on board before you do it – rash purchases can lead to long silences in the home. This spoils the enjoyment a little.
