Speed Up Restorations
April 10th, 2009
Restoring a classic car without any help sounded like a great idea at the time. Now that you have the engine in parts on a garage workbench and a body that is a complete mess, you find yourself reevaluating the decision. In truth, you would be willing to give your left arm to have your baby looking like she does in your dreams and ready to ride.
So, where can you turn for the help you need?
If you want to be certain you seek out assistance that truly understands classics, try turning to these places:
- Specialty garages – There are garages and body shops that specialize in classics or at least work on them as a sideline. Do exercise due diligence and check out your options and their references carefully. If a reputable garage is found, however, this is perhaps one of the quickest ways to get an antique car completed and on the road.
- Car clubs – Just a classic car club and feel out members for advice on getting your baby on the road. Car lovers tend to like working on vehicles. It is even possible you could trade out helping a few other members with their cars while they provide assistance with yours. Otherwise, clubs are a great place to get recommendations on garages.
- Friends and family – If you just need extra hands and are not lacking in the repair expertise, call on friends and family to help. Chances are they would love to be a part of making your dream reality.
Restoring a classic takes more than money. It also requires time and patience. If you are running out in the patience department, there are places to turn for help.
